Who we help

Couples & Polycules

In this environment, we help couples and polycules connect and create positive experiences in their relationships to reduce conflict and learn how to navigate challenges. Guided conversations can help to heal old wounds, resolve sticking points, and encourage empathy, understanding, and connection.

Individuals

We want to support you in gaining new awareness and experiencing relationships in a new way—romantic partnerships, friendships, work relationships, or family bonds. We’ll help you build trust, learn to identify and express feelings, gain confidence or be more assertive, and overall feel more authentic and connected.

Adults in Families

We focus on guiding families to relate and communicate differently to foster connection, heal old wounds, and gain understanding of family patterns. This work often includes adult children and parents, siblings, or extended family, and can be provided in Maryland or virtually, through traditional therapy meetings or short-term intensives.

And more…

our approach

We approach relationship therapy intentionally and personally.

This means our work is unique to each individual, couple, or family we work with. What stays the same is our commitment to helping you create deep, meaningful connections.

Therapy can help to illuminate patterns in your relationships and offer different choices for how you relate to yourself and others. We can support you in learning different ways of communicating, setting boundaries, having productive conflict, or moving into a new phase in a relationship.

Relationships are key to our mental health. We can help you with yours.

Together, we’ll look at…

  • Developing effective communication techniques, intentional listening, and deep empathy to build understanding and connection.

  • Identifying recurring behaviors or interactions that might be hindering your relationships and understanding where those patterns come from.

  • Exploring different viewpoints and attitudes to foster mutual respect and healthy connection in all your relationships.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. We offer therapy intensives for couples who are looking to rekindle their connection and reignite the “spark,” or those who have tried traditional therapy and haven’t found the results or progress they were looking for. We also offer intensives for adults in families who seek healing, conflict resolution, support for family decision-making, or greater cohesion.

Intensives are offered in person in Maryland or virtually, and the length of time and format are tailored to your unique needs. We recognize that sometimes regular weekly sessions can be difficult with work, lifestyle, and personal commitments so we offer a different approach to help you connect and grow in your relationships in a meaningful way.

  • We do! Here, we’ll be able to help you find intentional ways to connect in your dating journey. That might look like practicing dating and communication skills, giving you a bit of relationship “coaching,” and exploring what you might be looking for in a partner. If you’re returning to the dating scene after a significant time away, we can help with identifying different strategies to help you navigate this new chapter. We know it can be challenging or even scary, but we’ll help you find a deeper understanding of yourself so you can feel confident pursuing romantic relationships.

  • Yes. Our understanding of relationships is expansive, multiculturally aware, sex-positive, and kink-affirming. We have extensive experience working with people in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships. We bring cultural humility to our work and center it around values of equity and justice.

  • Yes, you can come alone. While we support couples and families, oftentimes many of the challenges we face need to be addressed individually. Here, we provide a therapy experience that fits what you need and helps you thrive in all your relationships.

  • We don’t provide traditional family therapy for families with young children or adolescents, but we offer parent coaching, consultation, and training for parents. We do provide family therapy for adult family members who wish to heal from the past or achieve greater connection, such as with adult siblings or a parent and adult child. This work can be transformative for families and enable individuals to move beyond stuck points in their own lives that may stem from historical family experiences.
